The mission of the International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery is to provide an active link between clinical reality, basic research, computer science and application-oriented engineering research for an interdisciplinary development and evaluation of innovative solutions for better health care.
To date, the majority of innovative CAOS solutions have been initially proposed and evaluated at CAOS meetings. Apart from international interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation for and a practical transfer and implementation of scientific findings, the education of our students from different disciplines and specialties is a major objective.
CAOS members build a unique interdisciplinary community of clinical experts (about 50%) and engineers as well as computers scientists. This interdisciplinarity is also reflected in our boards and thematic focus groups, the traditionally single track joint interdisciplinary annual meetings with clinical as well as technical best paper and poster awards – and last but not least – in the impressive list of clinical and technical pioneers who received the prestigious M.E.Müller Award for excellence in Computer Assisted Surgery and Honorary Members of our society.
For the transfer of innovations into approved clinically usable commercial products as well as to foster education, training for patient safety and to prepare our students for their career in clinic, research or industry, cooperation with established industrial partners and innovative start-ups is crucial. Therefore, we explicitly invite industrial partners to cooperate as corporate members of our society.
En nombre del comité organizador, es un honor darles la más cordial bienvenida a la Ciudad de Buenos Aires con motivo de la realización del 27º Congreso Anual de CAOS International, a celebrarse del 16 al 19 de junio de 2027. Por primera vez en su historia, este encuentro internacional se realiza en Sudamérica, reuniendo a cirujanos ortopedistas, ingenieros biomédicos, investigadores e industria de los cinco continentes.
Bajo el lema “Computer-Assisted Surgery Goes Global”, el congreso reunirá los principales desarrollos en robótica quirúrgica, navegación, planificación e impresión 3D, inteligencia artificial y realidad aumentada aplicada a la ortopedia. Durante cuatro días tendremos conferencias magistrales, sesiones científicas, workshops pre-conferencia y simposios industriales, todo en un formato single-track que privilegia el intercambio interdisciplinario que caracteriza a nuestra sociedad desde su fundación.
La Ciudad de Buenos Aires, con su carácter cosmopolita, su tradición académica y su vibrante cultura, los recibe con los brazos abiertos en el moderno entorno de Puerto Madero. Esperamos que puedan disfrutar no solo de la agenda científica, sino también de la riqueza cultural, gastronómica y humana que nuestra ciudad ofrece.

The congress will take place at the UCA University, located at Av. Alicia Moreau de Justo 1300, Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires.
